The City of Alameda has established a preference point placement system for the limited number of BMR affordable units located in Alameda.

Applicants can receive up to a maximum of 2 points based on the criteria below:

• One Point: At least one adult household member currently lives or works in the City of Alameda.

• One Point: At least one adult household member is an employee of Alameda Unified School District

Applicants receiving two points shall be considered to have the highest preference; applicants receiving one point shall be considered to have the second highest preference; and applicants receiving zero points shall be considered to have the lowest priority.

Please answer the preference point section of the application carefully. Preference points will be verified by Rise Housing Solutions before any applicant can receive final approval to purchase a BMR home. Applicants who misstate their preference points will lose their waitlist position.
